Coach Mark Van Deren grew up swimming in Newport News. He was a scholarship swimmer and conference finalist at Ohio University and Old Dominion University. Mark has 20 years of coaching experience having worked with USA Swimming, summer league, US Masters and YMCA swimming teams in Virginia and North Carolina. Mark is a PE teacher for CCPS. Mark and his wife, Emily, have three sons – Jackson, Brady and Camden. Jackson and Brady both swim for the Sharks.
